Kate Thornton is a Yorkshire-based designer maker specialising in contemporary collage. Her love of natural history, particularly birds, is the inspiration for her beautifully simple collages which incorporate a range of materials including antique maps, postcards and images from old books. These delicate historical materials are used to create hand-cut silhouettes which are married together with printed and coloured papers and form the basis of her printed designs.
